Personalise Your Home with a Skilled Carpenter in Cambridge

From fitted wardrobes and media walls to kitchens and interiors, LP Bespoke is a trusted carpenter in Cambridge delivering craftsmanship that combines function, beauty, and true bespoke design.

Creating Spaces with Precision and Care

Craftsmanship Rooted in Experience

Unlike mass-produced options, our work is designed and handcrafted to fit each space perfectly. LP Bespoke is a bespoke carpentry business built on years of experience in both structural carpentry and fine joinery.

With a background leading the carpentry division of a construction firm, our expertise spans every aspect of woodworking and home improvement.

Today, the focus is on creating bespoke fitted furniture and interiors — from wardrobes and kitchens to media walls and custom joinery.

Turning Vision Into Precision-Built Interiors

From Concept to Creation

At LP Bespoke, we believe the journey is as important as the result.
That’s why we’ve refined a simple six-step process — designed to give you clarity, confidence, and complete peace of mind.

From the first conversation to the final installation, every stage is handled with precision, honesty, and care.

Share Your Vision

Initial Enquiry

Every project starts with a simple conversation. Share a few photos of your space along with rough measurements, and we’ll provide a transparent ballpark figure.

This early stage helps you understand what’s achievable within your budget, while giving us an insight into your ideas, inspiration, and requirements.

It’s a relaxed, no-pressure step designed to open the door to your bespoke journey.

Precision Planning

Site Survey & Design Consultation

Once you’re happy to move forward, we arrange a detailed site visit.

During this stage, we take precise measurements, assess the layout of your space, and discuss your design aspirations in depth.

Whether you have a clear vision or are looking for guidance, this consultation allows us to refine your ideas into practical, elegant solutions.

We focus on making sure every element works both functionally and aesthetically within your home.

Visualise Your Design

CAD Drawings & 3D Renders

To bring your project to life before it’s built, we produce detailed CAD drawings and, where required, 3D renders.

These provide an accurate, visual representation of your design, showing dimensions, layouts, and finishes.

This stage is about giving you confidence: you’ll be able to see exactly how your wardrobe, media wall, or kitchen will look, and make any adjustments before we begin crafting.

It’s a collaborative step where your feedback shapes the final design.

Crafted with Care

Handcrafted in Our Workshop

With the design approved, your project is handcrafted in our workshop.

Here, we use a blend of traditional joinery techniques and modern precision tools to create bespoke furniture that’s built to last.

Every detail — from material selection and surface finishes to the smallest fittings — is chosen with care.

This stage ensures your furniture isn’t just functional, but also a piece of craftsmanship that elevates your home.

Seamless Finishing

Installation & Completion

Installation is carried out by the same skilled craftsman who built your project, ensuring continuity, quality, and attention to detail.

We also coordinate trusted trades such as electricians, plasterers, or decorators where required, so you don’t need to manage multiple contractors.

The result is a smooth process and a flawless finish.

Before we leave, we ensure every detail meets our exact standards — and more importantly, yours.

Simple & Transparent

Clear Payment Stages

To keep everything straightforward, we use a clear staged payment process. A 10% deposit secures your place in our schedule, 50% is due two weeks before production begins, and the final 40% is paid on completion.

This structure gives you confidence that everything is managed transparently, with no hidden costs or surprises. It also ensures materials and production time are booked in advance, keeping your project on track.

For larger-scale projects, such as high-value shopfitting or commercial commissions, payment stages may vary depending on the complexity, materials, and labour required.

Final payment terms will always be confirmed at the quotation stage, ensuring clarity and transparency before any work begins.

Guidance for Your Bespoke Project

Your Questions, Answered

From payment stages to CAD drawings, here you’ll find clear and detailed answers to help you make informed decisions about your bespoke project.

What's the difference between a carpenter and a joiner?

Carpentry and joinery are closely related trades, but they focus on different aspects of working with wood.

  • Carpenters generally work on-site, handling the structural and installation side of woodworking. This includes tasks like fitting doors, skirting boards, staircases, or roofing frameworks. Their work is usually centred around construction, installation, and finishing touches that bring a build together.
  • Joiners typically work in a workshop, where they craft pieces of furniture or fittings that will later be installed. This might include wardrobes, media units, cabinets, windows, and bespoke furniture. Joiners focus on precision and detail, producing pieces that are both functional and decorative.

At LP Bespoke, we combine both skillsets. Every commission is designed, handcrafted in our workshop, and then fitted on-site with the same level of care — meaning clients benefit from the precision of a joiner and the practical expertise of a carpenter.

What is meant by bespoke furniture?

Bespoke furniture simply means made-to-order, designed specifically for you. Unlike flat-pack or standard high-street options, bespoke furniture is tailored to fit your home’s dimensions, your personal style, and your individual needs.

  • Tailored fit: Every wardrobe, media wall, or storage unit is measured to the exact dimensions of your space, making use of awkward alcoves or under-stair areas that standard furniture can’t accommodate.
  • Personalised design: From door styles and finishes to hardware, lighting, and unique features like safes or glass display drawers, bespoke furniture is designed around how you live.
  • Quality craftsmanship: Bespoke pieces are built by skilled craftsmen using premium materials, ensuring not only a flawless finish but also long-lasting durability.

For our clients, bespoke furniture means interiors that don’t just fill a space, but enhance it — combining elegance, practicality, and individuality.

Do you only work on residential projects, or do you take on commercial work too?

While the majority of our projects are for homes in and around Cambridge, we also have experience with commercial joinery.

Past work includes bespoke shopfitting, barber shop interiors, and custom-built units for businesses.

We’re able to adapt our design and craftsmanship to both domestic and commercial settings.

What is your payment process?

We use a staged payment system to make the process straightforward and transparent.

A 10% deposit is paid once the quote is accepted, followed by 50% two weeks before production begins.

The remaining 40% is due on completion. This ensures the project is secured in our schedule and materials are ordered in advance, while giving clients peace of mind with a clear structure.

For larger projects, such as high-value shopfitting or full commercial commissions, payment terms may differ slightly from the structure outlined above.

While a staged approach of 10%, 50%, and 40% is ideal for projects like a £10,000 wardrobe, projects with higher values (for example £20,000+ shopfitting) may require additional staged payments spread throughout the process.

This ensures materials and labour are covered at the appropriate times.

Final payment terms will always be confirmed at the quotation stage, giving you clarity and confidence before work begins.

Do you provide design drawings before the build starts?

Yes. Once measurements and requirements are confirmed and we have received the initial deposit, we provide CAD drawings or 3D renders so that you can clearly visualise your project before work begins.

This step allows you to make changes, explore finishes, and feel confident about the design.

Only once you’re fully satisfied do we begin the workshop build, ensuring that what you see on paper is exactly what you’ll enjoy in your home.
